- To a certain degree, divorce will permanently affect anyone involved. This is one of the reasons God "hate" it (Malachi 2:16), as it is not what he intended.
- Studies have cited the increase in the likelihood that a child from a divorces home will....

Experience a divorce in his or her own marriage.
In spite of the evidence, many couples contemplating divorce overestimate a child's resilience for the wrong reasons-to justify a decision loosely terms as "what's best for the children."
At the same time, underestimating God's redemptive power in a family is equally erroneous. Specifically, if you come from a divorced home, the writing is not on the wall regarding your future. There are, however, challenges unique to your situation. If you are wise, you will seek counseling, time for reflection, blame-free conversations with your parents if possible and many moments of solace with God to work through your experience. God can heal and restore you in ways you never thought possible. -Women's Devotional Bible (NLT)
My mother was covered with the evil spirit back when I was 11yrs old. I didn't want to be around her I hated her so much. She worked at the hospital here in town & my dad worked for a professional drag racer so he was gone a lot. Well, behind his back my mom went out partying. Be gone til late or early that next morning & all drunk. I couldn't stand her I would leave the house & go to my ex's house. There is where I got into smoking & cussing. I didn't know any better. But while that was going on my dad would visit my grandmothers house. There she would read the Word to him and teach him on marriage. His Spirit man lifted him up to take a stand.
So, as he was in California he went into a service at a place & fell down on his knees asking God for help. Like I said, my mom was a drunk. She got arrested one night & as she was setting in the police station she heard a voice telling her to go back to her family. It freaked her out. She didn't know what to think at first cause we were not saved & didn't go to a church anymore. Well, her Spirit man woke her up & she sobered up changed. Her & dad got back together & as soon as they did they stopped drinking, smoking and cussing, which was their every day deal. We started going to a church of their friends & we got saved and baptized. Re-living a new life & their marriage was stronger than before. They gave their life to God together thanking Him for putting their marriage back together.
Now they've been married for 34yrs & they pastor a church. My mom's the preacher & dad's the prayer warrior.
God can make changes when he knows the time is needed but you just got to trust him. -JD
{Psalm 68:5-6}
5 Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—
this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
6 God places the lonely in families;
he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
{Joel 2:25}
The Lord says, “I will give you back what you lost
to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts,
the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts.
It was I who sent this great destroying army against you.
{Romans 8:28}
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
